Introduction
The Extraordinary Rover conference held in March 2009 comprising over 300 Rovers and advisors identified many opportunities to assist Crews. This guideline hopes to enable stronger links between Region Councils and Crews and provide examples of quality that help Rovers and Crews become extraordinary. This Guideline was formally endorsed by the Branch Rover Council at the Feb 2010 meeting.
Program
- The RRC runs events to support local crews
- Promotes & supports events run by local crews
- Promotes & supports events run by the BRC
- Promotes & supports events run other Scouting sections in the Region
- Schedule RRC meetings to suit the members
- Schedules & facilitates Crew triennial visits
Membership
- Write regular articles for the local district & Region newsletter
- Visits Venturer training courses to promote Rovering in the region
- Maintains a list of all crews and updates VicRovers.com
- Liaises with the Ventures to maintain a list of local Units
- Maintains a current WEB site/Facebook page
- Recruit members to the RRC
- Proactively contacts crews not seen in 3 months
Behaviour
- Members pro-actively support each other
- Members at all times behave in a manner in line with the Scout Law and Promise
- The RRC monitors members and friends behaviour at all events
Training
- Have all committee members attend a TASC course
- The Chair & Executive have attended a Basic training course
- All members in the region have completed an Intro course and Squire training within 6 months
- Member are encouraged to take up leadership positions within Victorian Rovers
- The RRC maintains a distributes a Induction kit for Crew reps
Management
- All RRC positions are filled annually
- Run meetings efficiently
- An accurate report of the Region financial status is reported at each Business meeting
- Discusses important items from the last BRC meeting at the next meeting
- Discusses and votes on all Voting items from the last BRC meeting at the next meeting
- Distributes minutes within 1 week of meetings
