Driving to Mudbash
Advice to participants of the Mudbash Rover Scout event at Mafeking Rover Park over the Queens Birthday long weekend, June 2012.
Please be aware that concerns have been communicated to local Victoria Police officers regarding the driving of vehicles to and from the Mudbash event. Issues identified include:
- Driving at a dangerous speed given the road conditions, wandering wildlife/livestock and adverse weather conditions.
- Driving of vehicles with heavily loaded trailers at a fast rate of speed on narrow winding roads.
- Driving to and from the event whilst tired or fatigued.
If these behaviors continue there is a real chance of serious injury and death. I implore all of you to act and drive responsibly taking this advice into account.
Also bear in mind that a number of large Log Trucks frequently use the roads in the vicinity of the Mafeking Rover Park, and their un-expected presence on the road can also be a serious traffic hazard.
Local Highway Patrol officers will be out in force in the area actively policing the roads to and from the event.
Members of Police Scouters Victoria will also be active in the area with the aim of making the event safe for everyone.

President – Police Scouters Victoria
