Rover Scout Motorsport were one of the first Motorsport Clubs within the Confederation of Australian Motorsport to run a Junior Development Program. The original program ran during the Australian Jamboree in 2007. Over the weekend of 30th-31st August 2008, a small team of Victorian Rovers ran a Junior Development Program for the Venturer Section at Treetops Scout Camp during RoVenture. This is the first JDP that has been run by RSM since the 2007 Jamboree. A total of 60 Venturers participated in the program, which was designed to give Venturers the opportunity to have their first chance at being involved in motorsport. Two tracks were configured designed to show the required abilties and fine skills required to control a motor car. For many Venturers this was the first time they have been in a vehicle. Read more for photos of the event. Special thanks to members of Amaroo Rover Crew for running the activity and thankyou to Craigieburn & Berembong Rover Crews for providing vehicles for a static display to show off some of the vehicles within the Club. |
