*NEW* BRC Branch Commissioner's (Rovers) Award
Written by BC-Rovers
Sunday, 20 April 2008

I am please to announce a new award from the Branch Rover Council, the Branch Commissioners Award. This award is open to all Rovers and Rover Advisers and can be nominated by anyone in Scouting outside of the Rover Section.

This award is designed to recognise those individuals who have done something exceptional to benefit the Crew or Scouting. It may be someone who has organised a hugely successful District event or organised a Group event. They can be nominated by Region Commissioners, District Commissioners, Group Leaders, Leaders within the Scout Group  or anyone in Scouting.

There is an award in the Rover Section for Rovers and Advisers who provide outstanding service to the Rover Section over a sustained period of time, this new award is designed to capture those one off events of brillance.

If you would like to nominate a Rover or Rover Adviser please send me an outline of what they have done, why you think it is an outstanding contribuiton and how Scouting or Rovering benefitted from this persons actions. The 2008 Award closes on the 30th June 2008, coverds the period 1st July 2007 to 30th June 2008 and will be announced on World Scout Day - 1st August. There will be a presentation at Rover Dinner in October 2008.

*NEW* Branch Rover Council Chairman's Award
Written by BRC Chairman
Sunday, 20 April 2008

I am pleased to be able to announce a new award for the Rover Section - The Branch Rover Council Chairman's award. This award is for Rovers who have provided outstanding service to Scouting or Rovering.
They may have contributed to a off event or a series of event, for example a Rover may have been an integrel a hugely successful District Event or a Group Event, or perhaps they are the Rover who just always committs that 110% to everything your crew does.

The criteria is loose so that we can capture as many outstanding Events and Rovers as possible. This is a peer nominated award, Rovers can only be nominated by other Rovers. There is a BC Rovers Award for other people to nominate Rovers.

The Rover Section already has an award for those Rovers who provide outstanding service to the Rover Section over a sustained period of time, There is nothing to commend those Rovers who put in phenomenal effort for one huge event, or who are not involved neccessarily on committees outside their local group, which is why this award has been created.

If you would like to nominate one of your fellow Rovers please send me an outline of what they have done, why you think it is an outstanding contribuiton and how Scouting or Rovering benefitted from this persons actions.
The 2008 Award closes on the 30th June 2008 and will be announced on World Scout Day - 1st August. There will be a presentation at Rover Dinner in October 2008.
